NOMAN's Salvage Guide

The NOMAN’s Salvage Guide gives impulses and things to think about - take it as a baseline.
Salvaging is not only about scrapping hulls and fracturing and disintegrating ships - it’s an #occupation. Next to mining, to salvage is one of the most honest work in the ‘Verse.

Types of Salvaging Link to heading

There are three types of salvaging activities:

FPS Salvaging Link to heading

FPS salvaging are salvaging activites where ever scrapable panels or ship hulls are around. Usually it’s planetary side or on moons. You can save those filled up canisters to repair ships and pipes and you can sell it at dedicated selling spots. Recovering ship components, weapons and cargo is also part of salvaging. The overloards however nerfed salvaging and scavanging with the implementation of the Fourth Reich. If you are a true salvager, you still have joy doin that, but economically speaking not worth the effort unless you scavange ship components that are not buyable in stores and sell it to other players. There are two different Salvage and Repair Tool (short SRT) available:

Ship Salvaging Link to heading

Ship salvaging requieres a ship with scraping modules attached to it. You salvage planetary, on moon but also out in the void.
Salvaging ships have the capability to print Recycled Material Composite (RMC) and Construction Material (CMAT) SCU boxes. The ships have even Craft Modules implemented. You can craft FPS Tools and Fuses. At the moment there are 3 salvaging ships available:

  • Revenue (vs. Profit) is the total amount of sales generated by a business for its goods or services.

  • To calculate profit, you need to take the revenue from above, subtract all expenses, then take away any deductions.
  • This difference is the final amount of money that was gained after all transactions were completed.
  • Expenses - refueling, food and drinks
  • Extraordinary expenses - repair, initial invest in gear, armor, utility and rental services
  • To simplify we calculate “(-invest+revenue)/commodity = profit/commodity” (for further analysis and splitting into trading go’s) - (gross profit)
  • To summarize we erradicate the commodities but subtract the all expenses to get the profit per run “(-invest+revenue)-expenses = profit” - (net profit)
