The Intergalactic Aerospace Expo (IAE) is an annual spacecraft exposition that is held in the United Empire of Earth (UEE). Founded in 2670 by spacecraft enthusiast Audrey Timmerman, it was initially held on Castor (Corel IV) until 2847, when the board of directors voted to rotate the location of the IAE each year. This continued until the board voted to permanently host the event on Severus (Kiel III) in the Kiel system in 2913. Spacecraft manufacturers such as Drake Interplanetary, Consolidated Outland, and Origin Jumpworks use the expo to debut new ships and run sales. It is usually held over 10 Standard Earth Days. Starting in 2948, the IAE began hosting satellite events to allow more people to attend with several being hosted in the Stanton system. Since its premiere in 2950, the spectrum show Whitley’s Guide runs a special series of episodes on the IAE each year hosted by Jax McCleary.
IAE - Free Fly Link to heading
The Free Fly aspect of IAE is the opportunity, for all people to create a free RSI account using any referal code to get extra starter cash in-game. During this Free Fly event, everybody is is able to fly all ships promoted during this event for free. There is absolutely no IRL money involved. The available ships are listed down below. You travel in-game to New Babbage on microTech and follow the signs that leads to the expo halls. To aquire the availble ships to fly, using the in-game funktionality of rental. Either walk to the ship and find a terminal to rent, or at the entrace of the hall, are rental terminals.

If you manage to grind enough money, you also can buy ships in-game with in-game money (aUEC). The limitation is: you cannot launch the game, as soon as Free Fly window is closed. There are several Free Fly events throughout earth years, and you can continue your journey - still, without spending any IRL money.

Every ship and vehicle manufacturer has an event slot, where they have the opportunity to showcase concept work, new ships but also “old” ships. A selected list of those ships & vehicles, new and old ships are availble to fly for free. We urge to test as many as you can, to find a ship that suits most to your current and/or planned game play, have an impression, if it’s worth to pledge IRL money for, or grind in-game cash to buy the ship in-game.
